Carrie Prejean threatened to walk off Larry King Live Tuesday night, in the middle of her interview with Larry King. Prejean's threats came after King asked the former beauty queen about the reasons behind her recent settlement with the Miss California USA pageant. King asked Prejean why she agreed to strike a deal with the Pageant and drop her claims of libel, slander and religious discrimination. "Why settle since you had a fight to carry on?" King pressed. Prejean demurred. King asked again: "You can't even say why you settled?"

US Sen. Lindsey Graham censured by SC county GOP

CHARLESTON, S.C. -- Republicans in Charleston County censured their own U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham, saying he puts bipartisanship before the party on issues like climate change.

"U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham in the name of bipartisanship continues to weaken the Republican brand and tarnish the ideals of freedom, rule of law, and fiscal conservatism," according to a resolution passed Monday.

Graham has often reached across the aisle on various issues.

The resolution notes Graham supported the bank bailout and "has shown a condescending attitude toward his constituents" opposing his stance on amnesty for illegal aliens.

"There have been a lot of things over the years that people have been dissatisfied with the senator for doing but I think the cap-and-trade issue is the straw that broke the camel's back," said Lin Bennett, the county GOP chairwoman.

"We have a state platform that if you want to run as a Republican in our state part of that platform includes ideals and goals we would like to see and one of them is smaller, and less government intrusion into people's lives," she said.

Graham has a 90 percent conservative voting record )

Yep. It pretty much means diddly squat but I'm wondering what'll go down at the convention or if they'll actually challenge his seat.

Last night I was watching Seinfeld on TBS. It was this episode in which Jerry dates a masseuse and George sees a woman named Karen. At first I wasn't paying attention, but there was something awfully familiar about this Karen... It was Lisa Edelstein!! I was amazed at how she hasn't aged one little bit! Though admittedly, it was funny to see her wearing those 90s clothes :p

Anyway, I thought I'd share. Have a nice day :3

"You know, I don't buy that often, but when I buy, I buy quality."

Opening statements are slated to begin Thursday in the first of two corruption trials for Baltimore Mayor Sheila Dixon, the first African-American woman to lead the city.

Across the city of Baltimore, the corruption trial of Dixon has residents like Stephanie Williams talking.

"I don't think anyone in the city hasn't heard about it," Williams said.

Public opinion here hasn't focused on the mayor's race or gender, but whether she can run the city while she stands trial. That said, residents like John Cheatham, who's African-American, sense racial overtones.

"If you ask an African-American out on the street, they tell you right away that Sheila Dixon is innocent," said Cheatham. "But if you ask a white person out on the street, they say she's guilty."

Catholic Church gives D.C. ultimatum
Same-sex marriage bill, as written, called a threat to social service contracts

By Tim Craig and Michelle Boorstein
Thursday, November 12, 2009

The Catholic Archdiocese of Washington said Wednesday that it will be unable to continue the social service programs it runs for the District if the city doesn't change a proposed same-sex marriage law, a threat that could affect tens of thousands of people the church helps with adoption, homelessness and health care.

Under the bill, headed for a D.C. Council vote next month, religious organizations would not be required to perform or make space available for same-sex weddings. But they would have to obey city laws prohibiting discrimination against gay men and lesbians. Gee, can't have that now, can we?
Fearful that they could be forced, among other things, to extend employee benefits to same-sex married couples, church officials said they would have no choice but to abandon their contracts with the city.
